Dyad is inspired by Dr. Langer’s research on dyadic or two-person communication in the context of health and illness. This work has spanned multiple dyad types, including persons with advanced cancer and their caregiving partners, children with chronic pain and their parents, and patients and their healthcare providers.

About the project

The "Circulation" wall installation is a collaborative project resulting from the unique "Artist + Researcher (ARx1)" program, an initiative to bridge the gap between creative arts and scientific inquiry at the Phoenix Bioscience Core. This program pairs local artists with scientific researchers to foster a cross-disciplinary dialogue, translating complex biomedical concepts into accessible, visually engaging public art. The goal of the collaboration between artist Danielle Wood and Dr. Michael Murray, a researcher focused on cardiac health, is to explore the concept of "circulation" from both a technological and biological perspective, making the vital work of the research campus tangible to the public and highlighting the intersection of human creativity and scientific advancement.
